Running a Diagnostic
Deploy the AI Readiness Diagnostic across your organization and interpret the results.
This guide walks you through deploying the AI Readiness Diagnostic to assess your organization's AI maturity.
Before You Begin
- Ensure you have Admin access to your Headways workspace
- Identify the teams or departments you want to assess
- Allow 10-15 minutes per respondent for the diagnostic
Step 1: Share the Diagnostic Link
Navigate to Home > Diagnostic in the Headways dashboard. Copy the diagnostic URL to share with your team. Each respondent gets a unique session.
Step 2: Complete the Assessment
The diagnostic walks respondents through five conversational sections:
- Current AI Usage - Tool adoption, frequency, use cases
- Leadership & Strategy - Executive sponsorship, roadmap, budget
- Skills & Training - Current capabilities, learning programs
- Data & Infrastructure - Technical readiness, security posture
- Culture & Change - Openness to AI, change management
Each section adapts based on previous answers, so the experience feels conversational rather than survey-like.
Step 3: Review the Report
After completion, the report provides:
- Overall maturity score mapped to L0-L5
- Section-by-section breakdown with specific indicators
- Gap analysis highlighting areas for improvement
- Recommended pilot based on your tier
Step 4: Plan Your Next Steps

- Run the diagnostic quarterly to track progress
- Have leadership complete the diagnostic first to set the tone
